About the University

RUSM, or Ross University School of Medicine, is a private medical school that trains future healthcare professionals. Its main campus is in Barbados, and its executive offices are in Miramar, Florida, USA. The university used to be in Portsmouth, Dominica, but in January 2019, it moved to Barbados. Adtalem Global Education Inc. is happy to own RUSM.

It is accredited by esteemed institutions like the Barbados Medical Council and the Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and Other Health Professions. RUSM also holds recognition from the U.S. Department of Education through the National Committee on Foreign Medical Education and Accreditation (NCFMEA). This allows American students to benefit from Federal Direct Student Loan programs. Furthermore, RUSM is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools and acknowledged by the General Medical Council of Great Britain.

Their pre-clinical campus is at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre in Two Mile Hill, Barbados. It has cutting-edge facilities like a clinical simulation center and a medical and anatomical imaging laboratory. Instead of traditional dorms, many of our students live in The Villages of Coverley, an off-campus housing complex affiliated with the university that offers a variety of housing choices.

RUSM strives to help its students succeed, offering academic counseling, job guidance, and test prep as support services. Plus, over 40 student groups are available for networking, such as scuba diving, dancing, and making music.

Residence on campus makes life convenient, while the Wellness and Counseling Center provides free services aimed at well-being. Furthermore, safety is of utmost concern and is ensured through round-the-clock protection, emergency medical services, and plans in case of extreme weather. Ross University School of Medicine provides safe and easily reachable housing, comprehensive support services, and recreational activities geared toward giving our students an excellent medical education.
